Glasgow Mega-Snake by Mogwai, the new Sunday Slam theme, blasts over the PA system, and the first edition of the new Sunday Slam is on the air! The fans roar as loud as ever. The new stage has a large Jumbotron like most big time wrestling stages, but a circular entryway instead of the typical rectangle/square. There's a large "WCF" logo over the Jumbotron, and two large "SLAM" logos on either side. We go ringside to our announcers.
Zach Davis: Welcome, fans, to this first edition of the new Sunday Slam! I'm Zach Davis, of course, and this is Shannan Lerch.
Shannan Lerch: Thankfully, minus that Luscious Davis ass.
Zach Davis: Indeed. We have a jam packed night tonight! TWO champions will be crowned, plus a NINE man tag in our main event. How often is that done!?
Shannan Lerch: Pretty much never!
Zach Davis: Exactly. First up, three men that worked together in the War. Logan, the man who won. Reckless Jack. And Wreck. Next, the team of Dake Ken, who ALMOST beat Logan more than once, Creeping Death, and Davey Ortega. Creeping Death got screwed out of the match when the lights went out, and got pinned by Jack. As for Ortega, he has some beef with the other team.
Shannan Lerch: My brother, and the owner of WCF, Seth Lerch, teaming with Mob Mentality, Rick Mad and Rage. That is a pretty formidable team, if I do say so myself!
Zach Davis: You would. Davey Ortega wants control of WCF, which Seth has. The two used to be close associates, but now... well, not so much. So we'll see what goes down there.
Shannan Lerch: As for our Television Title match... we have three of the biggest unknowns to establish themselves at War. Kurtis Victory we've seen before, and he's aligned himself with veteran Torture. Big Country and Tommy Havock are new, however. Tommy made it the farthest, but Big Country was up there as well. Only one of these men will win the TV Title.
Zach Davis: In our second Title match, Dark Prophet goes one on one with Nate Nytro. Prophet was no slouch either, and he used a barbed wire chair, busting open more than one guy. Including Logan of all people. For some reason he's being rewarded for that behavior with a chance to win a Title.
Shannan Lerch: Nate Nytro is no slouch though! He's held gold before, and although he didn't fare wonderfully in War, I think he has a decent chance here. We'll have to see.
Zach Davis: In our opening match, we'll see Simply Outrageous take on the team of Jon Michaels and Alex Adams. Michaels got shafted at the PPV, coming in fairly early and getting eliminated fairly early as well, so he'll be looking to prove himself moreso tonight.
Shannan Lerch: We haven't seen anything from Alex Adams yet, but they'll need to prove themselves to beat the huge team of Simply Outrageous.
Zach Davis: Before that, however, Seth Lerch has something going on in the ring?
We cut to inside of the historic WCF wrestling ring.
Seth Lerch stands in the middle of the ring. Sitting next to him is a small podium type deal, with something on top of that, yet a red blanket drapes over whats underneath it.
Seth Lerch: Tons of wrestlers have came through those curtains right there. Tons. Believe me, I've seen even more wrestlers in the back, but in this business, you either have it or you don't, so a lot of guys get canned before they even hit those curtains. However, one man stood above most. One man that I put on the same level as Logan. I've never even said that in all seriousness. This man fought day in, day out, and made everyone around him a winner. Whether it be tag teams that he was thrown together with, or the men that had his back, they were all winners. He had dedication and love for this sport, and brought me more ratings, more fans, more money than I knew what to do with. If you guys don't mind I'd like to welcome this wrestler out here, by himself. I have something for him. Ladies and gentlemen please rise, for the second best wrestler in WCF, the longest Hardcore Champion, the longest undefeated streak in WCF with 51 wins... TORTURE!
Cypress Hill bangs over the speakers, as Torture makes his way to the ring. Obvisiouly confused. He steps into the ring.
Seth Lerch: Torture, Torture, Torture. I miss you man. I mean. Well. You know. Lets get to the point. Tonight, a whole new WCF races on. New wrestlers. New stories. New characters. Pretty much NEW WCF altogether, however, the championships, the records, the awards are staying the same. Even the Hardcore title. Now, I could be a cold heartless son of a bitch and not give a damn, but I honestly do. For some reason. I don't know. Welp, long story short. Under this cover is the WCF Hardcore Championship.
Seth pulls it off. The title, shinning in all it's glory, sits there. Torture looks harder at the belt, and his face turns to the smile, we've all come to love.
Seth Lerch: Thats right Torture. Camera-man. Zoom in on this. Fans, Torture's name is still on the title, and I thought it would only be fitting if Torture took his name plate off the title, and kept it.
Torture stands in front of the title slides his finger tips over the shiny gold that glistens. He slides his name plate off, looks at it, and just smiles in all his glory.
Seth Lerch: Well former champ. Tonight we crown a new Hardcore Champion. Thanks Torture for everything you've done here in WCF. Wanna say something?
Mic is handed out in front of him. Torture grabs the mic.
Torture: 51 wins. Thats a lot. Most of those wins came right here in this ring defending that very title. Man. This owns hard. I'm going to cherrish every memory I have with that title. I'm retired now, and won't be wrestling ever again, however, tonight isn't about me. It's about the new Champion. Whoever it is, just know, that the Hardcore Championship is the stepping stone into main events. Global recognition. World Title shots. Pay Per Views. Mass media. It's great. This is great. Torture. Out!
Torture drops the mic, pounds his chest and points his thumbs back at his chest, as the crowd chants in unison. SO! DAMN! COOL! Cypress Hill plays as Seth and Torture walk up the rampway.
Rollin by Limp Bizkit plays and Burn Out and Road Rage, Simply Outrageous, come out. They ride motorcycles down to the ring.
The sick guitar riffs that start off Walk play, and Jon Michaels comes out and points towards the back, and Laura Michaels steps out to a huge reaction. Jon plays the crowd and meets Laura in the middle of the stage, and they kiss. Jon then makes his way to the ring, pointing down at his opponent, his wife following him. Jon it talking trash, and jumps up on the apron, and Laura crawls into the ring between his legs, and she looks up, and Jon bends over and kisses her on the forehead. Jon enters the ring, and Laura points to Jon as he plays the crowd on the turnbuckle.
We hear the roar of the start to "Born Again Anarchist" The crowd starts to cheer when Alex Adams steps onto the stage. He walks down the rampway, slaping the hands of the fans along the way. Once he is in the ring, he headbangs on one of the turnbuckles.
Zach Davis: We have the contestants, let's do this!
Jon Michaels starts the match for his team, and Burn Out for this. They tie up, but Burn Out pushes him off and then Clotheslines him down as he gets up. He gets up again, and again Burn Out hits a Clothesline. Michaels is up one more time, and this time ducks the Clothesline. Burn Out turns around quickly, grabs Michaels' throat... but no, as he lifts him up, Jon kicks him and gets down before hitting a huge DDT!
Shannan Lerch: Burn Out tried to end the match a little early there, and it cost him.
Michaels tags in Adams. Adams jumps in and goes on the attack, kicking the fallen Burn Out repeatedly. He then locks him in the Dragon Sleeper, but after a few seconds Road Rage is into the ring and kicks him right in the head, causing him to break the hold. Burn Out stands up and kicks Adams a few times for picking him up and throwing him to the ropes. He hits a huge Powerslam into pin!.. One, two, no, Adams kicks out.
Zach Davis: Close call!
Burn Out tags in Road Rage. They wait for Adams to stand on his own power, and then use a Double Clothesline before Burn Out gets out of the ring.
Shannan Lerch: This is where the fact that these men are an actual team comes into play. They know each other better and will work better together.
Road Rage picks Alex up and throws him to the ropes. He hits a Big Boot. He's about to pin, but Jon Michaels is on the ropes and hits a big Springboard Missile Dropkick! Burn Out gets into the ring and runs at Michaels, going to Clothesline him over the ropes, but Michaels ducks and hits a Back Bodydrop, sending Burn Out over the top rope and to the floor outside! Jon then vaults himself and hits a Splash to the outside! The whole arena is chanting "WCF! WCF!"
Zach Davis: Good to hear those chants again, but WHOA! Jon Michaels with the high flyingness out of nowhere.
In the ring, Alex and Road Rage are back up. Adams is on the attack, and hits a huge Dragon Suplex that results in a pin! One... two... no! Kickout!
Shannan Lerch: Almost had it there. Thats a tough move to hit on such a big man. Alex picks Road Rage up, and R.R. starts fighting back. Road Rage whips him to the ropes and then kicks him in the gut.. and quickly hits the Rager Edge! The ref drops for the pin.. One! Two! Three! Zach Davis: Ding ding! Winner. Shannan Lerch: Simply Outrageous is simply victorious.
The lights fade to a crimson hue, and the cryptic and eerie intro to "Falling Away From Me" by Korn begins to echo through the P.A. speakers. As the guitars rip through the speakers like the dead being drug through a swamp, lightning hits the entrance ramp, exploding in a plume of smoke, and Dark Prophet slowly begins to walk out from the back. Prophet is met with jeers from his haters, and cheers from his long standing fans. He approaches the ring and slides under the ropes. As he rises, the lights rise as well, and Prophet takes off his trenchcoat and lays it by the ringpost and the stairs.
Zach Davis: That man is just plain scary.
The arena is covered in a blanket of darkness, as a solitary green light shines on the entrance way. After the small opening riff, the drums smash in and lights flash and spiral everywhere (white, green, and blue are the main colors). Nate Nytro makes his entrance, walking up the ramp and sliding into the ring. He waves and hand claps on his way to the ring, and taunts on the turnbuckle as he gets in.
Shannan Lerch: Awfully cocky-
Dark Prophet grabs Nate from behind and hits him a few times while he's on the turnbuckle! Nate's music quickly dies and Prophet positions himself under him... and hits a BRUTAL Powerbomb to Facecrusher.
Zach Davis: Bonecrusher!
Shannan Lerch: Yeah, Nate probably shouldn't have turned his back on him like that.
Dark Prophet stomps on Nate a few times before rolling out of the ring and getting a chair. He lifts it up and smashes it down on Nate's back, and Nate writhes in pain. Prophet smashes him again, and again, and again. He then picks Nytro up and grabs his throat.. Chokeslam onto the chair!
Zach Davis: Only a short amount of time into this match, and he's dismantling Nate.
He rolls out of the ring and grabs ANOTHER chair. He rolls in, smashes Nytro once with it, and then sets it on top of him. The chair from before is under him.
Shannan Lerch: Nytro sandwich.
Dark Prophet climbs to the top rope.. and hits a 450 Splash!
Zach Davis: Holy CRAP! That man is friggin HUGE, how in the hell...
He pins Nytro. One... two....
He lifts Nate up and shakes his head.
Shannan Lerch: He.. he isn't done yet.
He rolls out of the ring once again, and goes under the apron this time. He pulls out.. another chair.. but this one, wrapped in barbed wire.
Zach Davis: We saw this at War!
He rolls back in, and positions the chair so that it is stuck on the turnbuckle. He picks Nate up and throws him to the ropes, he runs himself, and at just the right time Spears Nate right into the barbed wire chair turnbuckle!! Nate yells out in pain, his back bleeding. Prophet smiles at the sight of blood and makes the pin.
One.
Two.
Three.
Shannan Lerch: Mercifully, it's over.
Zach Davis: No, there was no mercy about it. Dark Prophet just got bored.
Prophet stands up, smiling, as his music plays again. The ref hands him the Hardcore Title, and he rolls out of the ring, heading to the back.
Shannan Lerch: And our new WCF Hardcore Champion, Dark Prophet. Oh my.
Zach Davis: I don't know if Torture would have wanted it this way.
